(Note for Citrix users: We have noticed that there can be some issues when using Virtual backgrounds on a Virtual desktop. These can be from delayed video to funky lines or even causing the application to crash. This is due to the resources needs to run a virtual background.

If there is not enough resources the option might not even be available to turn on Virtual Backgrounds.)

The Virtual Background feature allows you to add an image with a company's logo or background during a RingCentral Meeting.

Prepare Background Surface.

When using this feature you will want to adjust your Background to allow for the best looking Virtual Background. Here is some suggestions from RingCentral:

  • The surface behind you must be flat, one color and only one tone of that color. If there is a wall and part of the ceiling behind gives of different visuals such as different colors, textures, dimensions, etc, it will cause distortion as the system attempts to accommodate.
  • Your background surface does not have to be specific color but white and green make the best background for the system to project the virtual background on to.

Set a Virtual Background

You can set the Virtual Background before or during the meeting.

Before a meeting, open the RingCentral Meetings Desktop app, then click Settings.
