You have been granted access to an inbox, yay! But for some reason after 30 minutes you are still not seeing any inbox access after scrolling Outlook's folder pane, boo =(

We have listed here a couple of methods of checking to see if Outlook is ready for the account. And if it is some workarounds!

Prepare your Inbox: Uncheck your 'Shared Folders' box

  1. Navigate to your Account Settings by going to File>Account Settings>Account Settings...
  2. Double click your email account and click on the "More Settings" button on the Change Account window.
  3. Go to the 'Advanced' tab and make sure that the "Download shared folders is unchecked. Hit apply.

Workaround 1:  Add the Inbox Manually

  1. Navigate to your Account Settings by going to File>Account Settings>Account Settings...

  2. Double click your email account and click on the "More Settings" button on the Change Account window.

  3. Go to the 'Advanced' tab and click "Add"
  4. Enter the name or full email address of the shared mailbox and click OK

Workaround 2: Add as a Separate User

  1. Navigate to your Account Settings by going to File>Account Settings>Account Settings...
  2. Click on 'New...'
  3. Enter in the user's email address and click Connect. (If it asks, this is an EXCHANGE account)
  4. When asked for a password, click on 'Sign in with another account'
  5. Sign in with your current credentials (this method doesn't always work so if you get in a password loop contact Helpdek)
