You have been granted access to an inbox, yay! But for some reason after 30 minutes you are still not seeing any inbox access after scrolling Outlook's folder pane, boo =(
We have listed here a couple of methods of checking to see if Outlook is ready for the account. And if it is some workarounds!
- Prepare your Inbox: Uncheck your 'Shared Folders' box
- Workaround 1: Add the Inbox Manually
- Workaround 2: Add as a Separate User
Prepare your Inbox: Uncheck your 'Shared Folders' box
- Navigate to your Account Settings by going to File>Account Settings>Account Settings...
- Double click your email account and click on the "More Settings" button on the Change Account window.
- Go to the 'Advanced' tab and make sure that the "Download shared folders is unchecked. Hit apply.
Workaround 1: Add the Inbox Manually
- Navigate to your Account Settings by going to File>Account Settings>Account Settings...
- Double click your email account and click on the "More Settings" button on the Change Account window.
- Go to the 'Advanced' tab and click "Add"
- Enter the name or full email address of the shared mailbox and click OK
Workaround 2: Add as a Separate User
- Navigate to your Account Settings by going to File>Account Settings>Account Settings...
- Click on 'New...'
- Enter in the user's email address and click Connect. (If it asks, this is an EXCHANGE account)
- When asked for a password, click on 'Sign in with another account'
- Sign in with your current credentials (this method doesn't always work so if you get in a password loop contact Helpdek)
