To add a contact:


You can do this in 1 of two ways. either via the app or online. We will be going over both methods in detail. Please make sure to do this or the Updating Speed Dial:External Contacts won't work


Via Online:

  1. Navigate to your contacts page : Personal contacts - RingCentral 
  2. Click on +Add Contact
  3. Fill in the necessary information under the three tabs: 
  4. Click Save!

Via App:

  1. Click on the + (Create New) in the Contacts Tab from the left hand side
  2. Fill out the relevant information
  3. Click Save!

Updating Your Speed Dial

External Contacts

  1. Navigate to Directories > Contact Directory
  2. Select a contact from your Contact Directory, and then select Add or Add to Favorites.
  3. A notification is displayed asking if you want to automatically accept the next available index number or manually enter your own. Select Yes to automatically accept an index number or select Edit Index to enter a unique index number. 

Internal Contacts

  1. Log in to your RingCentral online account. 
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click Phones & Numbers > Phones > Presence.
  4. Under Appearance, select the users you would like to display on your desk phone and softphone by clicking on Select a User, then click Save. You may click Preview on my phones to test how the users will appear on your phone.
