Overview

FaxSIPit is an online fax service that allows you to send and receive faxes via email. If your branch has opted in to FaxSIPit service, there are two possible ways you may be able to use it.

Two Kinds of Lines

There are two kinds of lines possible with FaxSIPit.

Dedicated Line

A dedicated line is associated with your email address; any faxes sent to the associated number will go directly to your email, and only your email. As such, you just need to compose an email to get started faxing with a dedicated line. A dedicated line will also have access to the FaxSIPit app for Zoom (we’ll talk more about that below).

Shared Line

A shared line is associated with a shared mailbox specific to your branch. Any faxes sent to the associated number will go to this shared mailbox, where multiple people will be able to see it. To use a shared line to fax, you’d need to change your ‘From’ address in Outlook before composing your email.

Note: Not everyone will necessarily have access to a branch’s shared line. Check with your branch manager to see if you have access to yours.

Faxing Via Email

Sending

NOTE: If you need to send a fax, but don't have access to a fax line, please reach out to the IT Helpdesk!

From: If you use a shared line, be sure to change this to the appropriate shared mailbox address.

To: 1<fax number>@efaxsend.com. For example, to send a fax to (971) 254-3976, you’d email [email protected].

Attached File: The document you wish to fax. Typically this will be a PDF file, but could also be a Word document or text file.

Subject: The title for your fax message. This will be displayed on the fax’s cover page.

Message: Type a short summary message as the message body. This will be displayed on the fax’s cover page.

Receiving

Faxes will arrive to your inbox or shared mailbox from eFax Corporate with a PDF attachment. Simply open the PDF attachment to view the fax.

Using the Zoom Client Fax App

If you have a dedicated fax line, you can use the Zoom client FaxSIPit app to send and receive faxes. This app uses the fax account associated with the current Zoom login, so if you use a shared line, you won’t be able to use the app.

The app is available from the Zoom Marketplace. You can find it here. You can also watch an overview of how the app works on the Zoom Marketplace page.

Once the app is installed into your Zoom client, you can send and view faxes easily directly from the app.
